When your summer holiday comes to an end, you can’t help but feel a little blue. But there is one thing that never fails to cheer me up, a little splurge of perfume at the airport. I just can’t resist treating myself to a new scent… I feel like I’d be breaking my very own tradition (and I’m no quitter!).
Unlike mascara, I’m a bit of a flirt when it comes to fragrances. My collection is always growing and changing, depending on my mood, age and more often than not, the season. Come summer, I put away my spicy or slightly heavier scents, and switch them up for something fresh and beachy. I always find my summery fragrances remind me of sunny getaways, BBQ’s and long Pimm’s fuelled evenings. My current faves include Jo Malone’s Peony & Blush Suede and Chanel’s newly formulated No. 5.
If you’re on a bit of a budget, you should always keep your eyes peeled for perfume sets. You can often pick up your fave scent along with a moisturiser or shower gel for the same price. When I head to the airport in a few days, I’ll be on the look out for Tom Ford’s Sole Di Positano which is inspired by the Amalfi Coast. This beauty smells like bottled citrus fruits and beautiful white flowers. Gimme, gimmie.
