Last Minute Father’s Day Gift Guide

Father’s Day is almost here, aka that time of year you sit back and think to yourself… what on earth am I going to get him this time.  Sometimes I wonder if it’s just my Dad that’s difficult? I mean, he doesn’t play golf, he doesn’t drink whisky, he refuses to wear jewellery (including watches), he’s not into gardening and has about as much interest in beauty products, as I do cars. As you can guess, that pretty much eliminates all of the suggested ideas in a generic ‘Father’s Day gift guide’.

Surely not all Dads are as difficult to buy for as my, let’s call him Diva Dad. So I thought I’d share with you a few of my favourite last minute gift ideas, as no doubt there will be more than a few of us scrambling around in search of the perfect gift.

Let’s start off with a classic gift. A good old box of chocolates! Hotel Chocolat have an amazing selection of Dad themed gifts, perfect for those foodie Dads. Plus if you’re extra nice, you can probably eat a few yourself, which is always a winner… #sorrynotsorry

Something you can never have enough of are perfumes and aftershaves. If you know your Dad’s taste, or even if you don’t, why not head out to your nearest department store and have a browse. You’re bound to stumble across a beaut scent or two… AND I’d imagine there will be a whole loada’ offers happening for us last minute shoppers, so you could save a pretty penny. A couple of my favourite scents are Chanel’s Bleu and the fresh and zesty perfume for men L’occiatane.

Planning on treating him big style this year? If your Dad is anything like mine, I’m guessing he already owns an iPad, iPhone, iWatch (essentially half of the Apple store), so how about a personalised travel wallet or passport case from Aspinal of London? Diva Dad was very impressed with his navy personalised wallet last year and it’s something they can use year after year. In fact, I’m a little jealous and might need to treat myself to the same.

If that all fails, I’d go for some snazzy basics. A set of Ralph Lauren trunks or a box of brightly coloured Happy Socks always go down a treat – that’s why Diva Dad has a chest of drawers full of them!

If you’re still stuck for ideas, give the below a scroll and hopefully it will give you a little inspiration. Just remember, no matter what your budget it’s the thought that counts.
