New Skincare Favourites

Happy Sunday beautiful people!

I hope you’ve all had a good week, despite the monsoon style weather we’ve been having. So much for that rain shortage ay? I think we had a season’s worth of water in about a week. Despite ruining my hair, this weather mix up is playing havoc with my skin. One minute hot and the next cold, my skin is starting to seriously dry out. So I’ve been upping the old hydrating lotions and potions and I thought I’d share with you a few of my faves.

The first isn’t exactly new to me, but it is one of my can’t live with outs, so I couldn’t not feature it. As you may have guessed, it’s the Aurelia Cell Repair Night Oil (cause I never shut up about it #sorrynotsorry). Whenever my skin starts looking a bit lacklustre, a few drops of this and a good night sleep and my skin instantly starts looking revitalised. It also smells absolutely beautiful, with a mixture of neroli, lavender and mandarin.

A new brand discovery for me is Herbalife Skin. I’ve been testing out their Daily Glow Moisturiser* and the rather delicious Berry Scrub* and I’ve been really impressed with the results. The Daily Glow Moisturiser is a super lightweight cream that softens, hydrates and illuminates. After a winter of using rich, intense creams, this is a welcome change and since using it my skin has been pretty much flawless. I always breakout when I swap up my skincare routine, but amazingly, this has had the opposite effect – my skin has totally cleared up. I say this and I’ll probably break out this afternoon now!

Next is something pretty exciting… although I would say that as I’m a total sucker for a beauty innovation! It’s the Filorga Priming Lotion*, which brings a brand new step to your skincare routine. This genius little bottle preps and primes the skin ahead of your skincare application, helping your usual beauty products absorb deeper into the skin. Now this might just be the reason that the Herbalife Moisturiser is working even better than I expected! Filorga’s formula is packed with over 50 anti-ageing ingredients and it smells rather gorgeous too.

Last up is the Boots Botanics Cleansing Toner. This purchase was a recommendation from my BBF and it has sat in my cupboard for about six months unopened. I just never use toner.. well until recently that is! My skin was going through a crappy patch and I got a bit of a roasting from my mother (the no1 skincare fanatic) about my lack of toner usage. Well Mum, as usual you were right, because since cracking open this All Bright Cleansing Toner and using it daily, my skin has transformed. It’s brighter, softer, cleaner and pretty much blemish free.

I think the cocktail of newness I’ve been using has really done wonders and it just shows how important it is to find the right products for your skin type. While buying a toner might not be as fun as bright red lippie, having a more flawless base to work with is 100% worth the money.
