CHANEL ROUGE COCO GLOSS Brightening Top Coat

Earlier this year Chanel replaced one of their classic lip gloss lines with the brand new Rouge Coco range. Available in 24 shades, this new gorgeous new line up is enriched with the miracle that is coconut oil – so as you’d imagine, they offer more moisture than your average lip balms. Now while the lip colours are beautiful, super glossy and everything else you’d expect, the most exciting part of the launch is the three limited edition top coats.

If you’re a major beauty junkie, I’m sure you already know all about these, but if not, then get ready to lust.

CHANEL ROUGE COCO GLOSS Brightening Top Coat

Chanel’s Rouge Coco Lip Top Coats are available in three shades, each with it’s own beauty superpower shall we say. The first is a sheer black formula that darkens any colour you apply underneath. The second is an orangey shade that adds warmth and finally (and this is the one I snapped up) the third, is a shimmery gold shade that lightens and brightens.

The brightening gloss, called Excitation looks gorgeous applied alone, but once you start mixing it with your lip colours, you’re going to be obsessed. Honestly, I’ve gone from whacking on a lipstick in the morning, to turning into some wannabe Picasso. It’s just so tempting to see how it transforms each and every colour.

Now if you’re not a lover of glosses because you think they’re sticky, taste like cheap bubblegum and just generally remind you of being 12, then put those thoughts out of your mind. This top coat is light-weight, comfortable to wear and leaves your lips looking glossy, bright and beautiful. Come winter I think I’ll be picking up the darkening top coat to continue my obsession all year round.

  • These sound like really interesting products. I love how glosses are coming in formulas that let you play around with what you wear underneath, love it!

haha oh god the Picasso thing made me laugh out loud. I’m not usually one for a lip gloss because I think as you said I’ve always associated them with something cheap I wore when I was 12 but you made these sound so good! I am a sucker for Chanel as well.

  • I don’t get along with a glossy finish but the packaging is gorgeous as always. :) x

    • Me either usually, but I’ve been really surprised by this x

  • I’ve never heard about this gloss before, but it must give a nice finish with some shades of lipstick! Gloss or shiny textures are generally not my favourite, but with Chanel I’m sure the finish is lovely and non-fussy!

  • I used to not be into glossy lipsticks but these days, I am digging them. The idea of putting a clear lip gloss on top of your lipstick seems so awesome – I might want to pick this up :B
