Full Of The Joys Of Spring

Spring is here and although the sun only made a fleeting appearance in the UK, everywhere you look the fields and trees are in full bloom. Spring is always the season where I fall back in love with living in the countryside, this morning I woke up to a real life Bambi running across the field outside my bedroom window and just look at this view…

Spring is easily one of my favourite times of the year and I’m clearly not the only one! There has been a lot of spring loving vibes in the blogosphere the past few weeks and I recently discovered that the Swedish have a whole festival dedicated to the season – Walpurgis Eve! So I thought like a true blogger, I’d jump on the bandwagon and chat about all the reasons I love Spring.

Who isn’t loving brighter mornings and lighter evenings? I’ve even been hitting the gym more and that’s saying something! After what seems like a super-long, dark winter, the additional sunlight hours have got me feeling energised and definitely more positive. Plus there is always the massive blogger win of having a few hours extra each day to create some pretty content.

A Taste of Spring

I’m not sure what it is about the sunshine, but the minute it peeps out from behind the cloud, I’m reaching for the nearest cold beverage, grabbing my picnic blanket and heading off to a sunny spot. One of my favourite tipples in the sunshine has always been Rekorderlig cider. The Mango & Raspberry is a personal fave, but then again you can’t beat a freezing glass, packed with ice, a slice, strawberries and the super-refreshing taste of Strawberry & Lime cider – gimme, gimme!

If you’re packing yourself a boozy picnic this bank holiday weekend and fancy adding a Rekorderlig cider (or two, or three), be sure to give them a tag over on their Instagram @Redorderligcider and #StartTheSwedishWay, for them to share you’re Spring time snaps.

A Wardrobe Update

Who doesn’t love a good wardrobe switch around? In Feb I had a look my clothes and just thought, eugh… so much grey and black, I probably could have kitted out an entire funeral! I needed a colour injection stat. As always my first port of call was Topshop and with just a quick flit around online, I had a cart full of clothes.. standard.

One of my best finds had to be this pretty in pink dress. With frills galore and ditsy flowers, its wrap around style is super flattering and right up my street. It’s the perfect dress for casual Sundays, but can easily be glammed up for Saturday night cocktail sesh! I can see myself living in it.

Okay this is totally basic, so don’t judge me! But the start of spring means we only have a few weeks until peony season begins. I just can’t get enough of those beautiful blooms and the minute I see them in my local florist they will be headed straight for my basket and then in every available vase in my house. If you ever want to get in my good books, a bouquet of beautiful peonies will always win me over.

Ah looks like we both had the same idea for a little Rekorderlig picnic :-) I’ve only just discovered your blog from Twitter but I’m pretty sure I’m now going to have to go ahead & follow you everywhere as your pictures are beautiful! That Topshop dress is super cute, I love how you paired it with white jeans, I never would have thought of that! Also, there’s nothing basic about Peonies, they are the flower of bloggers ;-) Lovely post!

  • You look stunning! You are right, the sun did only make a fleeting experience here haha, and I love spending as much time outdoors as possible when the weather is nice too. I also love this peony scented candle I bought the other week which is almost (okay not really) as good as getting fresh peonies in a vase haha. Gorgeous post, I love this dress xxx
