So it would appear that I haven’t put together a favourites post since August last year. The bad blogger of the year award is definitely coming my way. I’d actually started to do this feature over on my YouTube, but alas my videos have gone down the drain lately too – man I seriously need to get back on it! But regardless, there’s no time like the present, so here we go.
Let’s discuss my March favourites.
There is a little bit of a theme developing in my beauty collection… effortless beauty. Some might call it lazy, but effortless definitely has a nicer ring to it! Commuting into London means that my morning routine has to be as quick as possible, (especially as I’m all for an extra 10 minutes in bed) and I think I’ve finally got it down to a tee.
First up are brows. I’m all for a bold brow, but nailing that look prior to a coffee can be slightly tricky, so my go to is WunderBrow’s Eyebrow Gel. Easy to apply and lasts for at least 24 hours, you can pretty much slap it on, brush it through and you’re good to go. If you’re yet to jump onto the Wunderbrow bandwagon, hurry up and get over here.
When it comes to complexion perfecting products, you can’t go far wrong with Nars. Their Sheer Glow Foundation is the stuff of dreams (you can read my full review here), and unsurprisingly their concealer is no different. I usually buy the Urban Decay Naked concealer purely because it’s £5 or so cheaper, but this time I decided to splurge and what a difference! The Urban Decay concealer is lovely, but the Nars Creamy Concealer really works wonders covering blemishes and hiding those pesky under eye bags.
I don’t know about you, but as soon as the sun is out, the self tan goes from a Saturday night must have to a daily essential. I am so not up for embracing the paste! My current obsession is the very awesome, H2O Tan Mist by James Read. It’s essentially a finishing spray, that you can spray on daily over your makeup to build a subtle glow. It’s created with a base of refreshing rose water, which we all know is jam-packed with skincare benefits.
A brand that could probably feature in every one of my monthly favourites is Hourglass. Oh how I love that brand, their formulas and their very pretty palettes. The Ambient Lighting Bronzer is something that I use every day and I cannot recommend it enough. It applies beautifully and warms the skin with just a subtle touch of illumination. They’ve completely perfected that summer, sun-kissed glow and I don’t think I could ever be tempted by another bronzer ever again – bold statement I know! It comes in two shades, but unless you have very dark skin, I would stick with the lighter option. I’ve heard the darker version can be a little on the orange side if used on the wrong skin tone.
Lastly I wanted to share a little more hype for the NYX Matte Lip Creams. I actually have a post on my favourite shades in the pipe line so I won’t harp on too much, except to say that they are freaking amazing and a total bargain. Around £6 and available everywhere from Boots to Selfridges, these lovely lip colours dry matte and last and last and last. Once you own one, you’ll definitely be making a repeat purchase (or two or three!).
