On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

SS16 has got me obsessing over pretty pastel shades and my favourite of them all… pink! If you know me, you’ll know I’m not exactly a fan of pink. I have always found it just a little bit too Legally Blonde for my liking (sorry, too many movie references going on in this post I know), but over the past few weeks something has happened and I’m slowly turning into an addict.

Colour is this season’s must-have and while I’m not ready to embrace a bright pink frock, I’m finding accessorising with colour the simplest way to give my wardrobe a fresh new look. Now as we know, pink isn’t always the easiest shade to get right. Go too bright and you’ll end up feeling like Barbie and go too nude and you’ll miss the trend completely. My suggestion is to try more wearable pinks such as those with a hint of lilac or a subtle metallic hue – you’ll be rocking the pretty in pink look in no time. My recent finds include these ridiculously gorgeous ASOS floral heels and a pair of rose tinted Rayban sunglasses. Speaking of which, let’s take a closer look at these shades…

Now I know I just said about staying clear of the Barbie pinks, but for makeup I always think you can go a little bolder! Pink has seriously taken over the makeup counters this spring and I for one am fully ready to embrace the makeover. When the sun is shining, I’ve been loving this lip and cheek combo..

After you’ve applied your foundation, bronzer and a touch of mascara, just add a sweep of blush to the apples of your cheeks with theBalm Instain in Bright Pink* and then finish your look with Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Divine Lips in Rosy*. Pink perfection.
