Parc Guell & Markets, Barcelona

I love travelling, there is something about exploring a new culture that stirs up my inner sense of adventure. Last July I visited Barcelona for a long weekend with the boyfriend, staying in a cute boutique hotel just off of Las Ramblas. It really is an amazing city packed with culture, gorgeous buildings, beautiful people, delicious tapas and of course sangria. Determined to make the most out of the trip, there wasn’t a lazy day in sight. We breakfasted on the beach, dined at the marina, took in the sights, visited the zoo (the dolphin show is not to be missed) and shopped till we dropped. The highlight however had to be the beautiful Parc Guell. From the gorgeous flowers to the colourful buildings and mind-blowing architecture, it felt like walking into Gaudi’s dreams…

I’ve already mentioned the tapas and the sangria, but this city had so many more favours to offer… and boy did my waistband feel it! Walking down Las Ramblas we stumbled across the most delicious market I have ever seen, Mercado de La Boqueria. I envy people who could shop for their weekly groceries here every day… Ocado just doesn’t hold the same inspiration.
